The BOA® cable is positioned lower and angled, preventing forefoot lift. This evolution eliminates the need for a Velcro strap while providing a structure that enhances power and eliminates unwanted pressure or pinching. Adaptive materials allow for natural foot movement where needed for greater comfort, while data-driven zonal reinforcement keeps the foot wrapped for sharp power output and optimal efficiency. Guided by over 100,000 foot scans from RET?L data, Specialized recognized that both a standard and a wide sole would be suitable to best meet the full spectrum of human foot shapes. An internal reinforcement adds stiffness and durability. The result is a weight reduction of 20 grams, increased efficiency, and immediate power transfer. Always d on RET?L data, it was assessed that more space was needed to accommodate the Achilles tendon in order to increase comfort. The issue was resolved by creating an asymmetrical heel cup that offered more space while maintaining excellent connection. Thus, optimal knee alignment and greater comfort were achieved.
